Cybersecurity with NAOSSOFT Staffing

Cybersecurity with NAOSSOFT Staffing: How NAOSSOFT Staffing Protects You

As a global technology company, cybersecurity is one of our top priorities. While we love technology for its innovative opportunity, its spontaneity can sometimes come at the expense of your security, even without your noticing. Whether you’re a job seeker or employer, NAOSSOFT Staffing is committed to helping you safeguard your personal information as you go through your employment journey, so you can stay focused on the things that matter most to your career.

The following practices and features are some we use to make your experience as secure as possible:

Regular System Assessments: We perform regular vulnerability assessments of our systems and network, helping maintain our watertight cybersecurity functions.

Private resumes: Job seekers can make a resume private, so it’s only viewable by the employers they contact directly.

Suspicious login notifications: Users may be prompted to enter a verification code when a suspicious login is detected. The code may be texted or emailed to them.

Information Security: NAOSSOFT Staffing seeks to use reasonable security measures to help protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of personal information under its control; however, no electronic storage or method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. Please also note that emails, messages sent via your web browser, and other similar means of communication with other users are not encrypted.

Phishing and Scams Targeting Users

We have a variety of practices in place to make our site as secure as possible. While safety is our top priority, online security is not 100% guaranteed. Scammers can target job seekers by posing as a potential employer, often requesting personal information via email.

Phishing

Phishing is a type of scam used to trick end-users into divulging sensitive information. Scammers will often phish by posing as a legitimate company in order to steal financial information or account credentials, often via email.

Common signs of phishing:

Emails from an unknown sender: NAOSSOFT Staffing-related emails will only come from @naossoft.com—be wary of emails from a company or candidate that you haven’t contacted.

Threatening or urgent messages: A claim your account will be locked or deleted if you don’t respond.

Unexpected money and prize offers: Request you to claim lottery winnings, prizes, or a large inheritance.

Unusual attachments: Invoices, obscure file types, or documents prompting you to “enable macros”.

Links to a suspicious website: The website doesn’t look quite right or uses a “look-a-like domain” such as N4OSSOFT.com.

Scams targeting job seekers

Scammers target job seekers online by posing as potential employers. Below are some common tactics used by scammers:

Remote work: Scammers may seem like they’re offering you remote work, but they then request money for a work-from-home “starter kit” or send you a check with a request that you wire money back to them.

Tax scams: Fraudulent employers may request past W2s or other tax information.

What can you do about scams and phishing?

While they may seem threatening, there are a variety of ways you can protect yourself against phishing and scammers. Avoid opening usual or unexpected attachments, especially those with unusual file extensions (.zip, .jar, .js). Enable, use, and regularly update security tools, including anti-virus software, firewalls, and security patches. Never send personal or sensitive information such as bank account or credit card data over email or instant messenger.

Don’t transfer “extra” or accidental pay back to an employer, and never pay an employer upfront for a position or any kind of “starter kit”: a quality employer is more than happy to train their chosen candidates at their own expense. Be wary of employers who offer you a job without an interview or formal application process; if their offer seems “too good to be true,” it probably is.
